How big Will Crypto Grow?
Invest 2018-07-22I like this post from DK on Medium written before the January 2018 crash because she, like me, was involved in the dot.com boom. She compares cryptocurrency penetration with internet penetration through the lens of adoption by households. At present 3.5% of all households globally have adopted crypto. She also considers Bitcoin as Gold (see also my own article) and the size of NASDAQ.
TLDR; There will be a crash (there was), after the dot.com crash it took several years for the market to digest the failure and Amazon and Netflixes to emerge.
DK was writing in 2017, my personal view is that whales are keeping prices low now while they build very large portfolios, during 2018/2019 institutional money will come in and begin to drive Bitcoin up, investors will then diversify into Alts and their price will also increase. This will cause Bitcoin dominance will drop from it present very high level (43%) to 35%.
Which Alts will win? Who knows? Index investors know that they can buy C20 or T50 and let the index do the work.
